The HP printers are the most popular options for home and office printings. However, the users often get the 79 service error when they turn on the printer. People get confused at this error and even don’t know how to resolve it. The problem arises when a print job gets corrupted. It could arise because you might have installed an incompatible memory DIMM. There could be a problem such as there could be a miscommunication between the printer and the spooler due to outdated firmware. It has become a very common problem. Turn the printer off the on
Turn the printer off and restart it after 30 seconds or a minute. As you turn on the printer, wait for it to initialise. If the problem still persists, disconnect all the USB cables attached to it. Once you connect the wires again, the printer would go back to ready status. Now, you can check its firmware version. Update it if a newer version is available.
Once the firmware is installed, you can start printing again. To activate the new updates, you can fully reboot HP LaserJet Pro 400.
In order to resolve error 79, turn off the printer and remove DIMM. Reinstall DIMM and turn on your HP printer.
Reinstall HP associated software
Uninstall both drivers and HP associated software. Go through the following steps:
- Go to the Windows search bar. Type and open control panel.
- Remove all HP-printer related software by selecting uninstall a program.
- Now open Device manager.
- Go to the Print queues. Uninstall HP device.
- Restart your PC and wait till the driver gets automatically installed.
- Install and run the HP associated software.
